Every Question You’re
Too Polite to Ask
Costs, insurance, nerves, and kids — answered the way we’d want them answered: directly, with no fine print.
Do you take my insurance?
We accept most major PPO plans and file every claim for you. Bring your card (or just the member number) to your first visit and we’ll verify coverage before anything happens — you’ll know your out-of-pocket cost in writing before treatment starts. No plan? Our flat prices are on the Services page for everyone to see.
What if I haven’t been to a dentist in years?
Then you’re exactly who this practice was built for. Roughly a third of our new patients arrive after five or more years away. There is no lecture — there was never going to be a lecture. We take pictures, make a plan sorted by urgency, and go at whatever pace your comfort and budget allow.
I’m genuinely afraid of the dentist. What do you actually do about it?
The gentle-care promise is specific: slow-onset numbing that you don’t feel, warm rooms, noise-canceling headphones, and a raised-hand rule — lift your hand and everything stops immediately, no questions. For higher anxiety we offer nitrous oxide, and we’ll book you a longer slot so nothing ever feels rushed.
How much will my visit cost?
Our standard prices are published on the Services page — a first adult visit (cleaning, exam, X-rays) is $129 flat. If the exam finds anything, you get a written estimate with insurance applied before we schedule anything. The front desk never surprises you; that rule is older than the practice.
When should my child first see a dentist?
Around age one, or within six months of the first tooth. Our free “Happy Visit” for ages 1–3 is a pressure-free hello: a ride in the chair, a count of the teeth, a sticker, done. It makes age-three visits — the real ones — remarkably tear-free.
Can you really do a crown in one day?
Yes — we mill crowns in-house. You’re numbed once, the crown is designed and milled while you wait (about 90 minutes, movie included), and it’s placed the same visit. No temporary crown, no second appointment, no second numbing.
What if I have a dental emergency?
Call the office line — (555) 014-7788 — and press 1. During office hours we hold same-day slots for emergencies; after hours the recording gives you Dr. Okafor’s emergency instructions. Cracked tooth before a wedding is a category we have genuinely handled more than once.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Anything over $300 can be split into monthly payments — arranged at the front desk in about five minutes, no credit check for in-house plans under $1,500. We’d rather build a payment plan than watch you postpone care that will cost more later.
